I am turning 18 in November, and I want to do something awesome (my dad suggested skydiving or something) ... I REALLY want to be on a TV show (like Ellen because she is AMAZING) ... So any other ideas? I live in Canada btw. I may have a party also, but I want to do something exciting, like I want to do something that I am now allowed doing since I'll be eighteen ... Something memorable and that's what I'm asking for

Is Skydiving Really Safe?

asked:
Jumping from a plane meters above from land is not a safe sport as everybody may think. Skydiving poses that same feeling to anyone. In fact, skydiving safety has been better over the years.
Most skydiving fatalities and incidents are not caused by faulty equipment but failure to obey necessary precautions before jumping, like wrong timing of deploying the parachute, incorrect folding of the parachute and performing or experimenting with maneuvers that are extremely difficult and dangerous
The most common reasons for skydiving deaths and injuries, and that is 92 percent, are mistakes in judgment and procedure. This means that the jumper should be prepared well for the jump and do everything accurately to the time it takes until he reaches the ground.
Even in the process of signing up practice honesty. State or inform your skydiving instructors of any medical condition you are in. Saying that you have medical condition would not automatically stop you from skydiving, but absolutely doctor's approval would be needed.
Before jumping, knowing and checking you gear is very important, however experienced or eager you are to make your first jump. Ensure the goggles, helmet and jumpsuit are all in good condition.

Swooping is a very new form of skydiving, so the annals of this sport has to date back to skydiving, itself.
Skydiving has roots back to the very first credo that altruism had regarding flying. It was thought that with a hot-air helium hot-air helium inflatable or parachute it might be possible to fly. Now, however, it's definite that parachutes are mostly good for slowing a fall, this is anywhere the sport started.
Between World War I and World War II, parachuting in progress to become more and more popular among people who were not soldiers. These people at first in progress out just using old ex-military equipment. This was good adequate at first, but it was discovered that there were assured changes that might be made to the gear in order to ameliorate the steering of the parachute.
Eventually it was also discovered that it is much easier to skydive safely if you jump out of the airliner in assured positions. Skydiving, while it was still only a sport for the brave, evermore became more and more popular over the years. In 1950, it was careful to be an aeronautical sport, and now there are hundreds of competitions and skydiving schools all over the world.
Of course, after a while even the most adventuresome sport gets a diminutive bit boring. Swooping is just alternative way for people to make skydiving more interesting - it's more of an evolution in skydiving techniques than it is its own sport. Even so, there are a lot of people for whom swooping is the sport of choice.
It is not actually definite when swooping first started, though it absolutely began for the duration of the past 20 years. It was a mixture of people looking for a new type of skydiving, as well as the aftereffects of new, high performance parachutes.
