River boarding and white-water rafting
River-boarding is white-water rafting without the raft. You will make your way down Kawarau River on a body-board with nothing more than a helmet to protect you. Queenstown is one of the only places in the world you can do this, so make the most of it.
If you prefer to be in a boat, then opt for white-water rafting, just dont expect to always stay in the raft. You can thrash along the longest commercial rapid (400m) on the Kawarau River, or if you are brave enough then you can ride the white water of Shotover River where in winter the rapids are a hefty grade five.
